How can it be that TV is flooded with TV-series that are either crime-dramas or crime-thrillers, while there are considerably fewer films within this genre lately? I don't know, but I am certainly on the front row when ever a crime-drama is out. However, there wasn't a lot of power in this Canadian flick from last year, but if you can do with a slow-going and somewhat dark story, then "Small Town Murder Songs" is one way go about it. The film is just an hour and 15 minutes long, but it feels longer. Having said that, I still think it's a decent movie worth seeing. (6 out of 10)
