Having made a lot of popular comedies in the past, Kevin Smith decided to go all horror on us with last years "Red State" and there was just no end to how much shit he had to put up with afterwards as the reviews kept pouring in. And now, some time after, people don't seem to think it's all that bad after all. I surely never thought "Red State" was a bad film. Sure, it was no masterpiece or even one of the best horror films last year, but I never quite understood all the hatred towards this film, which I actually thought was an above average horror film. It's worth seeing, if you ask me. (6 out of 10)
This one didn't deliver for me. It couldn't decide whether it wants to be a religious horror or a dark comedy and it was a bit too bizarre for my taste.
SvarSletTotally made sense for me. I kept thinking about this crazy American "cult" called Westboro Baptist Church (which isn't anything like a regular baptist church), while watching it. :)
