My all-time favorite horror films are "Rosemary's Baby", "The Shining" and Hitchcock's "Psycho", but if I should pick my favorite horror film from the past 20 to 25 years, I'd most definitely pick the first "Scream" film. Of course, I wasn't all that thrilled about either number two or three and therefore I wasn't exactly expecting the fourth installment to be anywhere nearly as good as the first film. And, of course, it wasn't. That said, I didn't get my hopes up, so I was actually sort of pleased with it as it was. It was just a decent horror film and with last year not being a very good year for horror films, I can't think of many horror films I liked better than this one. (6 out of 10)
I've never been a fan of the Scream franchise. I thought the original was watchable and kind of inventive, but didn't like either of the following sequels. That one included.
SvarSletI loved the first one, but this one was just above average for me, but due to a lot of horror films that I saw last year being below average, this one was actually among the better films within the genre. :)
